Our Guided Nature Walking Tours of the Wetlands are back for this autumn!

Join our Guides on Guided Nature Walking Tour which will include a stroll around the main lake viewing our autumn guests and resident mute swans. Lots of work at present including autumn tree planting which will be discussed on the day.

Join us for a Guided Eco Tour at Tralee Bay Wetlands this Thursday, 19th August at 1pm. 

As part of National Heritage Week Alan Balfe, the Ecologist at Tralee Bay Wetlands will introduce you to the wildlife all around us, you will learn all about our Flora and Fauna, Trees, Pond and Bird Life and our Wetlands Habitat.

The Guided Eco Tour Begins at 1pm. Please arrive 10 minutes beforehand to sign in at Reception Desk and our Check In Station. Please bring suitable raingear and shoes for walking.

Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park invites submissions from Visual Artists; to consult, design, make and install 8-10 little Homes of our Wetlands "Wild creatures & plants for a Nature Trail" (Approx. size 18 inches to 36 inches). Each little home will depict a unique aspect of Tralee Bay Wetlands.

The artists applying will need to be;

(1) Interested in nature and
(2) Experienced in working with natural materials.

These little houses designs will engage children with a new innovative and creative nature trail at the Wetlands site. The aim is to offer fun, enjoyment, inspiration and to impart education regarding our natural environment, through the experience of our little creatures houses on the trail.

The total budget for artist’s fee, consultation, design, fabrication, installation, all associated travel and insurance costs, inclusive of VAT is €1,500. Many natural materials will be available on site at Tralee Bay Wetlands and these will be made freely available on agreement of design and timeframe for delivery.
